Ricky “floppy” Kemery, a member of Complexity Gaming’s Counter-Strike 2 team, compared the game’s response on the sub-tick system to the 128 tickrate in CS
. In a video, the professional player demonstrated that in the previous version of the shooter, the game registered kills much faster.
“It feels like there’s a delay between the headshot animation and the body falling. I have a stable internet connection and good ping; this shouldn’t happen,” Kemery noted. Many of floppy’s followers mentioned that they also frequently experience poor responsiveness in CS2.
Previously, a CS fan wrote an open letter to the developers, highlighting the main issues with the sub-tick system that negatively affect the gameplay of the shooter. The gamer pointed out that the new feature does not work as Valve employees intended.
floppy on twitter: "did some testing during player break, does the game feel the same for you guys too? feels like some delay between the headshot animation and the body falling, subtick or somethin idk. stable internet, decent ping. shouldn't feel like this. love y'all ♥️ @CounterStrike"

29 August 2024Floppy’s observations are concerning. 😕 The sub-tick system was supposed to improve responsiveness, not cause delays. With a good internet connection, this shouldn’t be an issue. Hopefully, Valve will look into this feedback!
