Players in CS 2 have found a way to make a bind to throw a grenade in a jump. The instruction was shared by the collector RemIx on social networks.
Bind on Jumpthrow in CS 2
The bind fails after restarting the game. You will have to set the jumpthrow bind again through the console after each CS 2 launch.
Open the developer console (“~”) and alternately enter the following commands for the jumpthrow bind:
- alias “+boing” “+jump”
- alias “+ding” “-attack; -attack2”
- alias “+dong” “-jump”.
- bind X “+boing; +ding; +dong” – instead of “X” set the button convenient for bind.
What is a jumpthrow?
Jumpthrow is a jump grenade throw that allows you to make a long-range spread. A script for it automates the execution of two actions and reduces the probability of error.
Is the Jumpthrow bind legal?
No! At the end of August Valve banned Jumpthrow in CS 2. Now players will have to manually perform a jump grenade throw or find an alternative spread.

29 August 2024It’s a bummer that the jumpthrow bind doesn’t stick after restarting. Guess we’ll have to keep resetting it every time. 😅 Thanks for the instructions, though!

29 August 2024Kind of annoying that Valve banned the jumpthrow. It was a neat trick! I hope they come up with an alternative or at least make it easier for us to execute those long-range throws.

29 August 2024Man, I was just getting the hang of using the jumpthrow. Now it’s back to square one! At least we still have some workarounds.

29 August 2024I knew Valve would crack down on the jumpthrow eventually! Makes sense though; it did give a bit of an unfair advantage. 😅

29 August 2024This bind workaround is cool, but it’s a hassle to set it up every time I launch the game. Valve should provide a better solution for those of us who love the mechanics of CS2. It’s annoying to redo this constantly, but hey, anything for an advantage, right? 🤨
