On the night of August 9, Valve released an update for Counter-Strike 2. Information about it was published on the official website of the shooter. The size of the patch amounted to about 700 MB.
List of changes:
- In normal mode, players will receive additional experience points for each round in which they damage the enemy.
- Added “sv_vote_to_changelevel_rndmin” command to control the rounds/time of rounds during which voting for a map is allowed.
- In normal mode, it will now only be possible to vote for the next map at the end of a match or during the first round of a match.
- In Battle to the Death and Arms Race modes, it will now only be possible to vote for a map change at the end of a match or during the first minute of a match.
- Restricted player upward movement when one player is standing on top of another.
- Dead players are no longer allowed to pick up items in spectator mode.
- The buy menu will automatically close if the team selection menu is opened.
- Rescuing a hostage now increases the target count in the match stats.
- Improved readability of damage dealt and damage received in the mini-table
- Target highlighting is now brighter.
- Player names are now visible on the mini-table in expanded form.
- The Mills map has been updated to the latest version from the Workshop (update notes).
- The Assembly map has been updated to the latest version from the Workshop (update notes).

29 August 2024Nice set of changes! 💥 The extra XP for damaging enemies adds a bit more strategy to normal mode. Also, restricting upward movement when stacking players is a smart tweak. Good to see Valve refining the game!
